Training Course for
Door Supervisors

This course is for existing Door Supervisors who need to renew their SIA licence. It updates your skills with the latest industry standards, covering topics like terror threat awareness , searching procedures , physical intervention , and safeguarding vulnerable people.

To be eligible for our Glasgow course, you must be 18 or over and already hold a Door Supervisor SIA licence. You must also provide a valid First Aid certificate with at least 12 months of validity remaining from the course start date. Finally, you must have English language skills equivalent to a B2 level.

Yes, the SIA requires all door supervisors to hold a valid first aid qualification. You must complete your Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training and receive your certificate before starting the security part of the course. Our training package includes the EFAW qualification to ensure you meet this requirement.

To be eligible for the course, candidates must be aged 18 and over and have sufficient reading, writing, speaking, and listening language skills to communicate clearly and effectively.

Assessment is done through two multiple-choice exams and practical skill demonstrations. The exams have pass marks of 71% and 80% respectively. The practical tests include using communications equipment and performing physical intervention techniques, which are individually assessed and video recorded.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Highfield Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) (Scotland). This qualification is awarded by Highfield , regulated by the SQA , and supported by the SIA.

This refresher course is a mandatory SIA requirement for renewing your Door Supervisor licence. Completing the course ensures you are up to date with the latest skills and allows you to apply to the SIA to continue working legally as a Door Supervisor.

The qualification allows you to renew your SIA licence, which is valid for three years. To renew it again in the future, you will need to take the required refresher course at that time.

We run the door supervisor refresher training course at our Glasgow venue at least once a month.
