The CCTV Operator Course is a classroom-based training program delivered over three full days. The class timings are from 9 am to 6 pm. To be eligible for the course, learners must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Must possess sufficient reading, writing, speaking, and listening language skills to communicate clearly and effectively.

How is the CCTV Operator Course Assessed?


The CCTV Operator course includes both multiple-choice exams and practical assessments. It is divided into two units, each with its own assessment method. To pass the course, learners must score at least 70% on the Units 1 and 2 multiple-choice exams and successfully complete the practical assessment, which is visually recorded.

 

The practical assessment typically takes around 20 minutes per learner.

Upon successful completion of the CCTV Operator Course, learners will receive a Highfield Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry (Scotland) at SCQF Level 6.
