How Long is the Door Supervisor Course and What are the Entry Requirements?
 

The Door Supervisor Course is a classroom-based training program delivered over six full days. The class timings are from 9 am to 6 pm. To be eligible for the course, learners must meet the following entry requirements:

 

  • Must be aged 18 and over.
  • Must possess sufficient reading, writing, speaking, and listening language skills to communicate clearly and effectively.
First Aid Requirement:

 

Do I need to have a First Aid Certificate for the Door Supervisor Course?

 

It is a requirement by the SIA that learners have a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate. Learners are required to present their certificates before the training starts. The certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. If learners do not have a first aid qualification, they can book the training with us through the first aid training section.

Assessment

 

How is the Door Supervisor Course Assessed?

 

The Door Supervisor course incorporates both multiple-choice exams and practical assessments. The course consists of four units, each with its own assessment method. To successfully pass the course, learners must achieve a minimum pass mark of 70% for Units 1, 2, and 3, and 80% for Unit 4.

 

Practical assessments for Unit 3 (Conflict Management) and Unit 4 (Physical Intervention) are visually recorded. Each learner should allocate approximately 15 minutes for the practical assessment.

What Will I Receive After Successful Completion?

 

Upon successful completion of the Door Supervisor Course, learners will receive a HABC Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry (Scotland) at SCQF Level 6.

 

This qualification is recognized and supported by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Successful candidates can then apply for an SIA Door Supervisor Licence, enabling them to work as qualified door supervisors throughout the United Kingdom.
